We are a Warm & Safe at Home (WASH) Award Winner: Community First Yorkshire’s work to tackle fuel poverty in North Yorkshire has been recognised.
Warm & Well in North Yorkshire was one of 15 national projects to receive the accolade of ‘Warm and Safe at Home award winner’.
National Energy Action (NEA) set up the awards to recognise the work of local organisations across England that tackle fuel poverty.
Community First Yorkshire led the Warm & Well project on behalf of a partnership of organisations from across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
This was a success in cross-sector collaboration and in total we helped over 4,000 people with issues around fuel poverty and affordable warmth. The prize money of £10,000 will be gifted to Citizens Advice Mid-North Yorkshire who are continuing to run the Warm & Well project in North Yorkshire. This ensures long-term sustainability for fuel poverty assistance and it also remains a priority area for local authorities across the county.
