Rural health enquiry spotlights discrepancies in urban-rural health and care

10 February 2022

The results of a three-year national inquiry into rural health inequalities has been unveiled. The findings point to significant inequalities between urban and rural health and care.

The findings highlight the need for an overarching, place-based rural strategy to address rural health inequalities.

The three-year investigation was undertaken by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Rural Health and Care and the National Centre for Rural Health and Care is one of the most extensive of its kind.
