From the 25th of February 2020 a new regular Tuesday morning fixture at Saltaire Cricket club in Roberts Park is a Men’s shed Group.
The Men’s Shed has literally grown out of the activities of the Club’s volunteer groundsman, who during the winter months has busied himself working on practical projects inside the pavilion. The idea of the shed is to offer the opportunity for other men to come and work on their own projects or practical projects for the community, while making new friends and enjoying a bit of non work place banter.
The first meeting attracted nine men who wanted to be involved in the shed so it looks as though things are off to a good start.
The group has already been given some wood working tools, a lathe and have been offered a small grant to purchase additional tools and materials.
So if you are man at a lose end on a Tuesday morning pop down to the Cricket Club Pavilion in Robert’s Park where you will receive a warm welcome, the kettle will be on or at the ready for a brew and a natter.
