Are you involved in the arts, heritage or wider cultural scene? Join the North Yorkshire Culture Conversation
Mustard& is a team of consultants developing a new Cultural Strategy for North Yorkshire. Supported by Arts Council England the strategy has been commissioned by North Yorkshire County Council in partnership with District Councils and members of the county’s cultural sector.
It’s vital that this strategy comes from the organisations, communities and individuals in the area who work in arts, heritage and wider culture.
Mustard& began their sector consultation process last month with a series of discussions and an online survey about the impact of Covid-19, the results of which were shared with the DCMS Select Committee as part of their Inquiry. They want to continue the conversations and build on each discussion to deepen their understanding, develop an ongoing cultural dialogue for the county, identifying challenges and opportunities. This is particularly important because of the reality in which we now find ourselves.
They are inviting you to be part of the next stage of the North Yorkshire Culture Conversation by giving 30 minutes of your time to help shape the future of culture in the county.
They will open up the conversation by posing three questions
- How would you describe the cultural sector in North Yorkshire?
- If North Yorkshire became the very best version of itself in ten years’ time, what would its cultural offer look like?
- What would need to change in North Yorkshire’s cultural ecology to achieve this?
It might be helpful to think about them in terms of audiences and aspirations, organisations and communities, venues and networks, the support you need and what you can offer.
