Members of the public across Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby areas are invited to join a local GP-led workshop which looks at ways to help patients, their family members and friends, plan for the future.
At the same event, a special cake will be cut in celebration of the 70th birthday of the NHS.
NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning group (the CCG) which buys health services for the local population is holding the workshop called “Planning the best care for your future” and NHS birthday celebration on Thursday 28 June 2018 from 2pm at the Golden Lion Hotel in Northallerton.
A variety of topics will be discussed at the free workshop and will start important conversations on matters which can be difficult to talk about including getting older and planning for end of life care.
The workshop theme aims to address the stigma associated with dying and to provide patients and their family or carers with the tools and confidence to best prepare. The informal discussions take place before the CCG’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) which starts at 3.30pm.
To join the workshop, delegates are asked to arrive at the venue for 2pm.
To attend the formal AGM only, arrivals must be prompt for a 3.30pm start. Refreshments will be made available and there will be an opportunity to ask questions to senior CCG staff.
Reserve your place by emailing hrwccg.media@nhs.net or calling 01609 767621 before Tuesday 26 June 2018.
Parking is available in the Golden Lion Hotel car park or at the Northallerton Forum. The venue is fully accessible.
For those unable to make the AGM, questions can be submitted to the Governing Body in advance up until 5pm on Thursday 21 June 2018 by emailing hrwccg.hrwccgenquiries@nhs.net or by writing to NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby CCG, Civic Centre, Stone Cross, Northallerton DL6 2UU.
