Who should attend?
The aim of the event is to present research findings in a way that helps improve practice, with likely delegates to include practitioners from local authorities, those working in the VCS and others who support men at risk of loneliness.
What will you learn?
The event speakers include:-
Dr Paul Willis: University of Bristol who will present Older Men at the Margins. Findings from a 2.5 year study funded by the NIHR School for Social Care Research that develops understanding of the ways in which older men (65+) from different social backgrounds and circumstances stay socially connected with others, and combat loneliness and social isolation in later life.
Andy Rylan: Development Officer Community First Yorkshire; Men’s Sheds-Men creating communities for themselves.
Bev Frain: Project Manager Community First Yorkshire; The Loneliness Campaign- a multi-agency approach to tackling loneliness and social isolation across North Yorkshire.
