Neighbourly communities – creating and strengthening connections
Well-connected and supportive communities are vital for reducing loneliness and isolation. North Yorkshire being such a large and rural county makes both loneliness and isolation a real issue, an issue that is prevalent in people of all ages, young and old. The Wider Partnership Conference aims to find better ways of connecting communities to tackle this emerging theme.

The North Yorkshire Wider Partnership conference is a high profile event in the county, chaired by the Leader of the County Council. The event is a much valued opportunity for partnership working and networking and attracts a varied audience from the pubic, private and, particularly, the voluntary and community sectors. The conference takes place in the morning concluding with a light lunch.
