Harrogate: Open the Door on Men’s Sheds
June 14 @ 9:45 am - 1:30 pm
Come along to an informal event opening the door on Men’s Sheds. What they are, how they benefit men and how to set one up.
Delegates will hear from other men’s sheds in North Yorkshire and further afield and learn about the process of setting up a Men’s Shed and the support available.
What will you learn?
- What is a Men’s Shed, and about the diversity of sheds that can be found.
- The benefits of Men’s Sheds to members, their families and the local community
- How to set up a Mens Shed and the financial and practical support available
The informal day includes presentations, video clips, and opportunities to meet and hear from and network with members of existing sheds and visit an existing project.
The day is being organised by Andy Ryland of Community First Yorkshire who has supported the development of several Men’s Sheds across the region. Presenters include Graham Storer, an ambassador for the UK Men’s Shed’s association as well as representatives of existing Yorkshire Men’s Sheds.
Westcliffe Hall is a 20 minute pleasant walk from the centre of Harrogate with secure cycle parking and on-street parking available. The hall is wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets.
Resurrection Bikes, the shed project you can visit during the day is down two flights of steps and so unfortunately is not wheelchair accessible.
