Northallerton: Young People’s Strategy Meeting
March 28 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Young People’s Provider and Partners Meeting
A small group of service providers met at the end of last year to talk about young people and engagement in volunteering. We agreed to convene a follow-up meeting to invite a wider group of providers and partners involved in supporting children and young people.
Colleagues from VCS organisations who work with children and young people and funders and planners focussing on children and young people, are invited to a meeting on Thursday 28 March, 2pm-4.30pm at the Forum in Northallerton.
The aim of the meeting is to provide a forum to:
- share information on services
- understand issues facing children and young people in North Yorkshire
- identify support gaps and priority areas for service development
- explore opportunities for joint activity or collaborative projects.
This is the first meeting bringing a range of people together and part of our expectation is that the group might want to meet two or three times a year – further meetings will only take place if attendees at this first meeting think it is useful to meet again.
Community First Yorkshire will facilitate the meeting and we will have inputs from other colleagues. A more detailed agenda will be issued in advance to those who have confirmed attendance.
Who should attend:
This meeting is for people working with children and young people and funders and planners focussing on support and services for children and young people.
We’re just across the road from the Friarage Hospital, on Bullamoor Road, which is a right turn at the roundabout as you drive north up the high street.
Parking: there is a large pay-and-display car park next door to the Forum. This is operated by Hambleton District Council. The short stay area costs 80p an hour up to a maximum of four hours during the day (Monday-Saturday). In the long stay area, all day parking is £3.20. Parking is free after 6pm and on Sundays.
Walking to the Forum: If you’re travelling to the Forum on foot, you can cut through from the High Street up a number of alleyways, cross East Road and walk across the car park. Otherwise, walk north up the High Street to the roundabout, turn right, cross the mini roundabout by Kwikfit, and we’re about another 100 yards on, on the right hand side.
