Scarborough: General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) training
June 5, 2018 @ 12:45 pm - 4:00 pm
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are new rules that will come into force in May 2018 and will apply to any organisation, no matter how large or small, that collects, stores or processes any kind of information about people anywhere in the European Union.
This half-day training course will give you the tools you need to be confident that your organisation is ready for the new regulations!
The course will cover questions such as:
- How do the GDPR differ from the current Data Protection Act?
- What is a Data Controller and what are their responsibilities?
- What data are we allowed to have and what permission do we need to have it?
- How do we need to update our data protection policies and procedures to comply with the new regulations?
- What sources of support and guidance are available to help us?
And plenty more, with the opportunity to discuss your concerns and experiences and ask any questions you might have!
This course is aimed at Trustees or Directors, or those key staff or volunteers, who have or are likely to have responsibility for ensuring that their organisation complies with the new regulations. Please note that we only have space for up to two people from any one organisation to attend.
Please note that this event is only open to
– Voluntary and Charitable Organisations in North Yorkshire
– Community First Yorkshire membership organisations
