Craven residents are being encouraged to get behind National Volunteers Week (1-7 June) by volunteering in their community.
Community First Yorkshire is hosting a free Volunteering Fair on Monday 4 June in Settle to showcase the range of volunteering opportunities on offer across Craven. From helping out in a community café, befriending the elderly to becoming a story collector – there’s a volunteering opportunity out there to suit everyone.
All you need is passion and some available time (sometimes very little!). Volunteering can be very rewarding and people take up the challenge for a variety of reasons. Whether you want to give something back to your community, learn a new skill or make a difference to someone’s life, volunteering can build your confidence, help you make a difference, meet people and most importantly, have fun.
Date: Monday 4 June
Time: 11.30am – 1.30pm
Location: Victoria Hall, Kirkgate, Settle BD24 9DZ

“Volunteering is a great way to meet and help others to make a real difference. Over 20 local organisations will be at our Volunteering Fair to help volunteers find something to match their interests and availability.”
