Opportunity to volunteer with POSCH (Parents of Special Children)
TREASURER WANTED! SMALL INCOME – EASY TO MANAGE WELL SET UP ACCOUNTS!
POSCH is a small and completely volunteer-led support charity in an early and exciting stage of development. As a relatively new organisation, we have just become registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in April 2018.
We have a new Development Plan and funding strategy that we are working with after some development support and training last year.
Now with our new legal structure in place, we are looking for a strong lead to take responsibility for our financial management and forecasting our planned expenditure and ensure that all our financial controls and policies are in place to be compliant with our new financial legal requirements.
Our income is currently low – below £10,000 – but we have ambitions and aspirations to grow this considerably over the next two years. We have a target of £6,000 to hold as a free unrestricted reserve by 2020, and have a lively fund-raising approach to support this.
You will have proven experience of working in a financial management role, or be able to evidence a strong track record in a relevant management or business field, and be able to bring your high level of expertise to the Trustee Board in a practical and down to earth way.
You will take responsibility for book-keeping, budget preparation and cash flow forecasts and manage all cheque and on-line payments as required, assisting the Coordinator in her role. You will be able to liaise with our Accountant for end of year examinations.
What is essential is a desire and commitment to see our charity run efficiently and effectively, to bring new expertise and understanding to our financial planning and management and to have a shared passion about providing local hands-on support to parents who have a child or children with a special educational need or disability.
Our mission is to support, improve and inspire better outcomes for children and their families. Our aim is to increase parental resilience, building their confidence and capacity to support their families. Our ethos is one of parents using their own experiences to help other parents.
We are very keen to recruit a new Treasurer but if you are interested in becoming a Trustee in any capacity please contact us to arrange an informal meeting to discuss the role. Contact Andrea (Chair) firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07899790126
