Yorkshire Agricultural Society are teaming up with the NFU, Barclays and RABI to highlight farmer health and wellbeing at a FREE half -day event at The Pavilions in Harrogate on Thursday 22 March from 10am to 1pm.
Farming’s hidden struggle
The stress, anxiety and worry experienced by many farmers is causing increasing concern, especially when it leads to mental health problems that are so difficult to talk about.
With one farmer suicide every week, we cannot ignore the devastation caused for families and friends and the huge impact it can have on a family farming business.
If you work with farmer customers, the Help Take the Strain event will show you how to:
- Spot the signs of someone struggling with their mental wellbeing
- Speak to them about what is happening
- Signpost them to the right help
This practical conference seeks to help, inform and support all those who come into contact with farmers and their families. Anyone can be affected by mental health issues and it does not respect age, gender or personality. Small actions can make a big difference so come along and find out more.
