Due to increased demand for our specialist services since the start of the pandemic and additional funding from the Ministry of Justice, Survive is recruiting a Senior Counsellor to work with survivors of rape, sexual assault and child sexual abuse.
The post holder will divide their time working in Harrogate and Skipton, with some home working also possible. The role is initially for 12 months, however, could possibly become permanent – subject to funding. The post holder will work with adult survivors of sexual violence who self-refer to Survive or are referred to Survive by the Supporting Victims Unit under a contract funded by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC).
The role involves working some evening hours.
In addition to DBS checks, successful candidates will need to undergo additional vetting which requires them to have been resident in the UK for the last three years. Successful candidates will be expected to deliver counselling face-to-face, online or over the telephone.
