Managing your business performance
The ‘Minding Your Own Business’ workshop (run by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society) is designed to support members of farming families who wish to examine costs more closely and identify ways of making efficiencies to boost profit.
Course aims
Attendees will explore how to recognise and use farm data to produce farm efficiency and performance measurements. It will also enable participants to prepare and produce cashflow and budget reports.
Course outcomes
By the end of the session attendees will be able to:
- understand year end accounts
- recognise cropping year vs financial year
- produce gross and net margins and identify the cost of production
- produce cashflow and budget reports
Workshops dates, times and cost
Tuesday 4 February at The Regional Agricultural Centre, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate
Wednesday 26 February at Askham Bryan College, York – this workshop is being run for members of the Future Farmers of Yorkshire Group
Thursday 27 February at Skipton NFU office, Skipton Auction Mart
All Workshops run from 9.30am to 3.30pm and the cost is £40 plus VAT @ 20%. Invoices are provided so that VAT can be reclaimed by farming businesses.
A packed lunch is required but tea/coffee and water are provided at each venue. All venues have excellent free parking and the tutors are all qualified, experienced ladies who are all members of The Institute of Agricultural Secretaries and Administrators and are out in farm offices, working across all sectors. The workshop is friendly and limited to 10 delegates so that it can be paced to suit everyone with plenty of discussion and interaction and loads of hints and tips to take home.
