Hawes last bank in town has closed, a similar story to many rural locations, however a Newcastle Building Society branch has just opened.
It does not have it’s own building. It shares a space in the community office with the library and post office. A great way to provide vital services in a rural location, where many people don’t have internet banking, and internet signal can be patchy.
