The North Yorkshire Mental Capacity Act Forum (MCA), which is a subgroup of the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Adults Board, is undertaking engagement work next year around the Mental Capacity Act.
The Forum wants to talk to as many people as possible to find out where improvements can be made and what support and guidance they, their families and carers, as well as professionals, need to make sure that people in North Yorkshire understand their rights, know how to plan for the future, and can have their voices heard.
The MCA Forum will also be setting up an Expert Steering Group of around 10 people to help shape the engagement activities.
North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) has asked colleagues from the sector to come forward to be on the Steering Group by 22 December. For more information and to find your NYCC contact go to http://nypartnerships.org.uk/mca2018 or contact caroline.oneill@communityfirstyorkshire.org.uk
