Encouraging people to get involved with their community
Building communities – it starts with a tiny connection.
A conversation, an idea, a talent, a skill – small sparks lead to big ideas. We all need relationships with the people around us, a shared vision for our place and space, a strong sense of community and the chance to spend time together doing things we care about.
Leeds City Council is funding a Community Builder to work in Rothwell. Sarah Hart is working alongside individuals and groups to showcase the best of Rothwell and is encouraging more people to get involved in developing new activities, relationships, events and ideas. By using local talents and resources we celebrate the individuality of Rothwell and increase a sense of community for all.
Meet Sarah and find out a bit more about her work in this short vlog.

The Adult Rising Stars of Rothwell
Miranda (our previous Community Building in Rothwell) chats to the Adult Rising Stars of Rothwell, a local group that contains a mixture of past am-dram society members and two groups that teach dancing and singing to young and older children.
Miranda went to visit them in Autumn 2022 as they were practising for their upcoming show. This was an opportunity for all three groups to showcase what they had learnt since September.
