Digital Hubs

We are aiming to enhance existing digital opportunities by enabling village halls in North Yorkshire to become ‘Digital Hubs’.

We are supporting village halls to gain reliable internet and mobile connection, and provide resources and facilities to enable communities to use their local hall to access online services, such as the Post Office, banking, job centre, health appointments, and grocery shopping, and potentially provide alternative workspaces for those working from home in their local area.

The project aims to help overcome barriers to digital access and give communities fair access to equipment, information, advice and services, improving our ‘rural infrastructure’.
