Dementia Forward is looking for someone to drive our minibus and provide support for our clients as part of a team. The role is two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, in the Pocklington/York /Scarborough area, to enable our clients with young onset dementia (Under 65 years) to have a day of activity in their communities.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to become involved with North Yorkshire’s leading dementia charity.
Applicants must have a D1 classification (minibus entitlement) on their driving licence. Due to insurance requirements, applicants must be over 25 and under 70 years of age, have a clean full UK driving licence which they have held for at least two years, and have been a resident of the UK for at least five years.
Main duties will include:
Assisting passengers on and off vehicles safely
Supporting clients to take part in the activity of the day
The planning of a route between each delivery/collection to meet the pre-determined delivery times allocated.
Ensuring that the vehicle is clean (externally and internally) and fuelled.
Completing the relevant vehicle safety, mechanical and equipment checks.
