Are you worried that local residents can’t afford to live in your area?
Do you lack smaller homes for young people or long-term residents to downsize to?
Are you looking to deliver new housing for your community?
Community led housing can help local groups to solve housing problems, create their own genuinely affordable homes and build stronger communities.
In January 2018, Hambleton’s Hudswell Community Charity celebrated the opening of three new homes which included a contribution from the Community Housing Fund, the first in North Yorkshire.
Community First Yorkshire is now working with Hambleton District Council and Ryedale District Council to tackle the problems of providing local housing for local people at an affordable price.

We’ve produced a number of videos to help you through the process of setting up your community led housing project:
An overview of community led housing in Yorkshire.
Hear from a Hudswell resident as he talks about his new home.
We have also produced a whole range of information videos you might be interested in on You Tube.
Come to one of our free workshops to find out more about starting your own community led housing project. Our events are designed for parish councillors, community groups, landowners and anyone interested in community led housing to find out more about meeting local housing needs by building affordable homes to buy or rent that are owned by the community, for the community.
