Week commencing Tuesday, 14 April 2020 we will be reviewing and refreshing the directory entries to ensure they are most helpful to organisations looking to recruit volunteers and for volunteers seeking new opportunities during the current Covid 19 episode. During the review we will be ensuring that all North Yorkshire “Community Support Organisations” within districts have the opportunity to advertise any specialist volunteering roles they may wish to recruit to; helping Covid 19 Mutual Aid Groups secure more volunteers if needed and other organisations wanting to recruit volunteers due to an increased demand for online support for example advice services relating to domestic abuse, counselling, bereavement support, debt and grants advice.
As part of the review we will have a team of staff checking in with all of the above cohorts and looking to see how we can help connect you up with the volunteers you need; and equally for volunteers, especially those who have been furloughed with specialist skills, who want to make a difference through volunteering. As part of the collective efforts of improving the flow of volunteers to Covid 19 related opportunities, across all organisations, we will be working collaboratively with other support organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors.
