19 hours per week – £10.84 per hour – 18 month contract

We are seeking a Community Development Officer to work with older people, local communities and existing service providers in South Craven (based from our Skipton Office).
The post is supported by the Community Fund and forms part of a project working on reducing loneliness amongst older people.
The objectives of the role will be:
- To become a trusted local presence and resource, linking older people to the services and information they need.
- To engage with existing community groups, services, facilities, activities and members.
- To work within communities and with individuals to identify need and develop locally supported activities to enable older people to have access to a wider range of opportunities and information that will help them to live healthier and happier lives.
The vision is for this role to support existing clubs and groups provision to help them remain relevant, have a plan for the future, to be sustainable and to be meeting local needs.
We also see this person working within communities that lack provision to help identify needs, opportunities and willing people, to take forward and help develop new opportunities.
We need an energetic, inspirational person who can communicate, listen and support local people to develop things that will meet the local people’s needs and contribute to reducing loneliness in older people and helping them live full positive lives.
