Could you spare a few hours a week to help people in and around Catterick? The Bridge is one of 23 community organisations supporting people during Coronavirus. More than 1,500 volunteers like Yvonne Leathley have been helping thousands of people over the last few months.
Now that some volunteers have returned to work, manager Jacqueline Brakenberry is appealing for anyone who could spare a few hours a week to help those who still need support with shopping, collecting prescriptions and checking in on people over the phone. If you’d like to help, find out more about the volunteering opportunity on our Volunteering in North Yorkshire site.
77-year-old Margaret Gunn said: “The response from The Bridge was wonderful and quite honestly if it had not been for them, I would have been really stuck. I can’t tell you how fantastic they have been”
