It’s Trustees Week (4 – 8 November 2019)!
Trustees play a vital role in our communities, volunteering their time and working together to support and guide organisations and charities across North Yorkshire.
This annual event celebrates and showcases the great work trustees do and highlights opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.
In the run up to this we are considering why being a trustee can be good for you and your wider community. Sandi, one of our Volunteer Support team is a trustee and she loves it!
“As a trustee I have the chance to help sustain an organisation and influence decisions and ideas that I know will make a real difference in my community”
Being a trustee offers a great opportunity to:
- Provide support to an organisation that makes a difference
- Contribute skills and expertise
- Develop new skills and experience
- Widen social and professional networks
- Improve well being
Time commitments vary, as do the skills required. You can find out further details of what’s involved here.
If you’re looking for a trustee role you can find details of opportunities on VINY our Volunteering in North Yorkshire directory. Simply click on the trustee tab on the top of the page.
Professional roles are profiled on the website of our Hands Up for Trustee partner, Reach. If you can’t find anything that is right for you – let us know your area of interest and we can request an opportunity in our newsletter.
