Our Community Support and Volunteering Team are the go to people for voluntary organisations and community groups. They aim to find prompt and accurate answers to the wide range of questions we are asked each day. A long standing and valued team member is leaving to start a new career with the Environment Agency, which in combination with our planned development means we are recruiting up to two new Development Officers.
Providing capacity and capability building support to the voluntary sector, our team are creative, reliable and work very much on their own initiative. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills and who relish finding solutions to difficult problems. They must be passionate about what the voluntary sector can achieve, but also prepared to offer constructive challenge when the need arises.
We can be flexible on your working days – our priority is to appoint a balance of knowledge, experience and personalities across the team. Our Development Officers need a shared positive attitude and complementary skill sets.
We would particularly welcome applications from people with experience of one or more of the following skill sets: governance support; facilitating digital and social media work with communities; helping volunteer involving organisations improve their support for volunteers and organisational development for village halls and community buildings.
You must be able to manage a complex portfolio of clients, juggling a variety of demands while ensuring all your clients receive the right support at the right time.
The Community Support and Volunteering North Yorkshire service is funded by North Yorkshire County Council and NHS North Yorkshire.
In return we can offer a rewarding job with flexible working and a great team.
