Solace is recruiting Family and Children’s Therapists to support refugees in Yorkshire and Humberside as part of it’s Children and Families Wellbeing Project Team:
The Children and Families Wellbeing Project is jointly funded from September 2018 to March 2021, through Migration Yorkshire as part of the National Resettlement Programme. Funding is expected to continue after this date but is not yet confirmed. The project is delivered in partnership between Migration Yorkshire, and two charitable organisations who are already very experienced in delivering therapy to refugees, Refugee Council (South Yorkshire) and Solace (West and North Yorkshire, Hull, North and North East Lincs, East Riding and Scarborough)).
Solace is recruiting a combination of children and family therapists and practitioners to expand their existing team.
Specifically we are looking for therapists to be based in the east side of Yorkshire and Humberside including Hull and East Riding. We also need to develop our capacity in North Yorkshire and in parts of West Yorkshire. To begin with therapists will be based at home delivering therapy via zoom, but this will be reviewed on a monthly basis with the intention that face to face work may resume as the lockdown restrictions are lifted.
Successful applicants will be joining a team of experienced therapists who are developing the service following the successful completion of a two year pilot project. The service delivers therapeutic support to vulnerable refugee children and their families, as well as supporting schools to develop their support to this client group.
